Privacy

PlainType has no account, app analytics, backend, or network connection. What you copy stays on your Mac.

PlainType is made by Disco Moose, the independent studio of Jason Csizmadi. This policy covers the PlainType Mac app and plaintype.app. Effective October 8, 2026.

The Mac app

PlainType cleans text on your Mac. It has no account, no app analytics, no backend and no network connection, so nothing you copy is sent to us or anyone else.

PlainType keeps only the five most recent cleans, locally on your Mac. You can re-copy them from the main window and clear them whenever you want. Deleting the app removes them.

This website

plaintype.app uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts anonymous, aggregate page views without cookies.

This website is hosted by Vercel. When you visit, Vercel receives technical request information such as your IP address, the page you asked for, your browser and the time, to deliver and protect the site. Vercel keeps operational logs under its own settings and policies.
